Hello!
As many of you already know, we are getting ready to leave Costa Rica for 3 months to serve in another location. Due to covid and some other factors, this process has been made slightly more complicated, but we are trusting that God is guiding us and that he will continue to lead us to where he is calling us to go.
Our first 2 weeks of our outreach will be locally in an area of Costa Rica, called Talamanca. There we will be serving in the community, among young people, churches and supporting a team that is pioneering a YWAM base in the area.
Our other destination for outreach is in the Middle East. Our destination is located in the 10/40 window, which is an area of countries that are generally closed to the Gospel and are considered ‘unreached’. A country is defined as unreached if the % of evangelical Christians is below 1%, which is the case in the location we are going to. We as a team have been focusing on, and have a heart for unreached locations, and so we are excited for this opportunity to serve.
We will be there for around 3 months and will be working with various local ministries in the area.
Our hope and prayer for this time is to build relationships with the people in this area, and to be able to share the love of Jesus Christ with them in whatever way we are able to. We are praying that the Lord would be preparing people’s hearts, and that he would place us among people who are open and ready to receive his Gospel.
I am also setting up a WhatsApp prayer group which hopefully will be updated much more regularly with information, if that is something you would like to be included in.
Please be keeping our team in your prayers, as well as the country that we will be serving in!
Prayer points:
- Protection as a team: both physical and spiritual
- That we would have no problems in entering the country
- For provision financially to cover what we are lacking
- Wisdom for the leaders, regarding decision making or in the case of any emergency
- New relationships and willing hearts of people in the area
- For peace in the country
- For the government and the political state of the country
- For our families, that they would have peace in their hearts as we go
